What this trial studies

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) in managing chronic pain symptoms across various conditions. Participants will undergo an 8-week MBSR program and complete surveys to assess their pain relief and overall well-being at different stages of the treatment. The study hypothesizes that different individuals may respond differently to MBSR based on their unique pain mechanisms, allowing for more tailored interventions in the future.

Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults aged 18 and older who experience any form of self-reported chronic pain, excluding cancer-related pain.

Not a fit: Patients with chronic pain stemming from cancer or those unable to communicate in English may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide insights into personalized pain management strategies for chronic pain patients.
