Understanding how maternal endocrine and metabolic diseases affect offspring health
Maternal Endocrine System and Metabolic Diseases and Offspring Health: Prediction Within a Birth Cohort
This study looks at how health issues in pregnant women, like thyroid problems and diabetes, can affect the future health of their children to help find ways to prevent metabolic diseases in kids.

What this trial studies
This observational study aims to establish a clinical database and long-term biobank by following metabolic indicators in pregnant women. It focuses on the impact of maternal endocrine disorders, such as thyroid dysfunction and diabetes, on the metabolic health of their children. By analyzing data collected before and during pregnancy, the study seeks to create an early warning system for predicting metabolic diseases in offspring. The findings could provide valuable insights into preventing and managing metabolic diseases in children, particularly in the context of rising incidences in China.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are pregnant women who can voluntarily provide informed consent.
Not a fit: Patients with twin or multiple pregnancies, severe pregnancy complications, or significant pre-existing health conditions may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to early predictive indicators for metabolic diseases in children, improving prevention and treatment strategies.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown success in similar approaches, particularly in establishing the link between maternal health and offspring metabolic outcomes.
