What this trial studies

This observational study aims to explore the relationships between fatigue, glycemic control, diabetes self-management, and quality of life in individuals diagnosed with operable pancreatic tumors and diabetes mellitus over a 12-month period post-surgery. It will track changes in these factors and gather qualitative insights into the experiences of patients facing these dual challenges. The study employs a longitudinal concurrent mixed methods design to provide a comprehensive understanding of how these conditions interact and affect patient well-being.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 and above who have been diagnosed with an operable pancreatic tumor and diabetes mellitus.

Not a fit: Patients currently undergoing active treatment for cancers other than pancreatic tumors or those with cognitive impairments may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved management strategies for fatigue and quality of life in patients with both operable pancreatic tumors and diabetes.

How similar studies have performed: While there is limited research specifically on this dual condition, studies on fatigue in cancer patients and diabetes management have shown promising results, indicating potential for success in this area.
