What this trial studies
This observational study aims to identify clinical and psychological factors that correlate with treatment satisfaction among psoriasis patients receiving biological therapy for over a year. Utilizing questionnaires, the study will gather demographic, clinical, and psychological data from patients at the Dermatology Clinics of the A. Gemelli-IRCCS University Hospital. The focus is on understanding how these factors influence patient adherence to treatment and overall quality of life, despite achieving clinical response benchmarks. The findings could help tailor treatment approaches to improve patient satisfaction and outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults over 18 years old with a diagnosis of plaque psoriasis who have been on systemic biologics for at least one year.
Not a fit: Patients with psychiatric conditions or those with psoriasis variants such as pustular or guttate psoriasis may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance treatment satisfaction and adherence among psoriasis patients, leading to better health outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: While there is existing literature on treatment satisfaction in chronic diseases, this specific approach focusing on psoriasis and biological therapy is relatively novel.
