What this trial studies

This study investigates how mild cognitive impairment affects the relationship between decision-making and movement. Researchers will conduct human reaching experiments to determine if this condition disrupts the interplay between cognitive and motor functions. Additionally, they will utilize Magnetic Resonance Elastography to assess brain stiffness in areas related to decision-making and motor control. The goal is to uncover mechanisms that contribute to impaired movement and decision-making in individuals with mild cognitive impairment.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals aged 45 to 90 with a clinical diagnosis of amnestic mild cognitive impairment.

Not a fit: Patients with significant movement impairments or other neurological disorders may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this research could lead to improved detection of mild cognitive impairment and more effective neurorehabilitation strategies.

How similar studies have performed: While the interplay between decision-making and motor control is a relatively novel area of investigation, similar studies have shown promising results in understanding cognitive impairments.
