What this trial studies

This observational study aims to gather data from approximately 2000 patients with cardiovascular disease who have evidence of chronic kidney disease (CKD). Participants will be recruited from around 25 sites in China and will undergo a baseline visit where their demographics, lifestyle factors, clinical characteristics, and laboratory tests will be collected. The study focuses on estimating the diagnosis rate of CKD, assessing awareness and treatment patterns, and describing the socio-demographic and clinical characteristics of these patients. The findings will help improve understanding of CKD in the context of cardiovascular disease.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older with cardiovascular disease and laboratory evidence of chronic kidney disease.

Not a fit: Patients with severe kidney impairment (eGFR <20 ml/min/1.73 m2), those on dialysis or kidney transplant, and pregnant or lactating women may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the diagnosis and management of chronic kidney disease in patients with cardiovascular conditions.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in understanding the interplay between chronic kidney disease and cardiovascular disease, making this approach relevant and potentially impactful.
