What this trial studies
This observational study aims to investigate the exposure of women working on dairy cattle farms to various chemicals and microbiological agents. It focuses on understanding how these exposures occur, particularly through inhalation and skin contact, and will measure the presence of pesticides, antiparasitic products, and disinfectants in biological samples such as urine, feces, and hair. Approximately 60 women will participate, with additional samples taken from bovine hair and air in milking buildings to assess environmental exposure. The study is conducted in the 'Grand Ouest' region of France and emphasizes the unique roles women play in this occupational setting.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adult women who work at least 20 hours per week on dairy cattle farms in the 'Grand Ouest' region of France and can communicate in French.
Not a fit: Women who do not meet the minimum work hours or are under legal protection may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved safety guidelines and health outcomes for women working in dairy farming.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited information on similar studies specifically targeting women in dairy farming, research on occupational exposure in agriculture has shown varying degrees of success in understanding health impacts.
