What this trial studies
This observational study aims to explore the attitudes of pregnant women towards cesarean sections (CS) on demand at the antenatal care clinic of Sohag University Hospital. It involves administering a questionnaire to gather insights on women's perceptions and experiences regarding CS, particularly in the context of cultural influences on childbirth practices. The study seeks to understand the factors that contribute to the increasing rates of cesarean deliveries, especially in regions where women may face societal pressures to have multiple children.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are pregnant women attending the antenatal care clinic at Sohag University Hospital.
Not a fit: Patients who are postmenopausal, have had two or more previous cesarean sections, or refuse to participate in the questionnaire may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide valuable insights that inform healthcare policies and practices regarding cesarean deliveries, ultimately improving maternal and infant health outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: While there may be limited studies specifically addressing attitudes towards CS on demand, the increasing global focus on cesarean delivery rates suggests that similar observational approaches have been utilized with varying degrees of success.
