What this trial studies
This observational study aims to recruit patients from rheumatology outpatient departments to collect longitudinal clinical, imaging, and biosample data. Participants will be grouped into study or control cohorts, including healthy individuals and those with rheumatoid arthritis at various stages of the disease. The research focuses on understanding disease mechanisms and identifying biomarkers that can improve diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment response. Patients may also participate in sub-studies involving additional research procedures to explore changes in disease profiles over time.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults aged 18 and older with varying stages of rheumatoid arthritis or related inflammatory joint symptoms.
Not a fit: Patients under 18 years old or those unable to provide informed consent will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved diagnostic and treatment strategies for rheumatoid arthritis patients.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using similar observational approaches to understand chronic diseases, making this a potentially valuable continuation of that research.
