What this trial studies

The project follows two phases: translation and cross-cultural adaptation following international guidelines, then psychometric evaluation of the Turkish CCSTQ. Translation will involve bilingual experts, reconciliation, and pretesting for clarity and cultural relevance. Psychometric testing will recruit native Turkish-speaking women aged 21–65 and include factor analysis, internal consistency, test–retest reliability, convergent validity, item discrimination, and ceiling/floor effect analyses. The study is conducted online through Ankara University and will conclude when the planned sample size and final assessments are completed.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal participants are native Turkish-speaking women aged 21–65 who are or have been sexually active, can read Turkish, give informed consent, and are willing to complete the CCSTQ.

Not a fit: Women who have had a total hysterectomy removing the cervix, a prior diagnosis of cervical cancer, severe cognitive impairment, or who cannot read Turkish are unlikely to benefit from this questionnaire.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, clinicians and researchers in Turkey will have a reliable Turkish tool to identify psychological and social barriers to cervical cancer screening and guide targeted outreach.

How similar studies have performed: Cross-cultural translations and psychometric validations of cancer screening questionnaires have generally been successful, and this project creates the first Turkish CCSTQ version.
