What this trial studies
This cross-sectional online survey will compare attitudes toward digital health and AI across three generational groups: students, working-age adults (patients and employees at a rehabilitation center), and seniors in the "Digital im Alter" project. Data collection will take place in November–December 2025 using validated scales (eHEALS and the Human-Computer Trust Scale), additional items on perceived barriers and facilitators, and open-ended questions. Recruitment will be through HAW Hamburg students, Constructor University/Jacobs University affiliates in Bremen, the Oldenburg rehabilitation center, and the DIA senior project. Responses will be analyzed to identify group differences and to produce practical recommendations for equitable adoption of digital tools in healthcare.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Adults (18+) who are students at HAW Hamburg, patients or employees at the Oldenburg rehabilitation center, or seniors participating in the Digital im Alter project, able to consent and complete an online questionnaire in German or English.
Not a fit: People under 18, those unable to give informed consent, illiterate individuals, or people outside the recruited cohorts are unlikely to receive direct benefit from this survey's findings.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the results could help public health projects and consultants make digital health tools easier to access and more trusted across age groups.
How similar studies have performed: Previous research has applied eHEALS and trust measures to study eHealth literacy and technology trust, but direct cross-generational comparisons in these specific German cohorts are limited.
