What this trial studies
This observational study evaluates patients with Barrett's esophagus and esophageal cancer who are being considered for endoscopic eradication therapy. Participants will be enrolled at various gastrointestinal clinics and endoscopy suites, where their demographics, risk factors, and health-related quality of life will be assessed. Data will be collected on previous treatments, endoscopic evaluations, and any complications from surgeries or therapies. The study aims to document outcomes related to endoscopic and surgical interventions for Barrett's esophagus and associated neoplasia.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients diagnosed with Barrett's esophagus-related neoplasia or dysplasia and those with esophageal cancer.
Not a fit: Patients with squamous cell carcinoma will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve treatment strategies and outcomes for patients with Barrett's esophagus and esophageal cancer.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using endoscopic eradication therapies for Barrett's esophagus, indicating a potential for success in this approach.
