What this trial studies

This study evaluates the impact of training based on the fracture liaison service model on frailty, care dependency, and fear of movement in patients aged 65 and older undergoing hip surgery. It employs a randomized controlled design with pretest and posttest assessments to measure outcomes. The training aims to educate patients about frailty and implement strategies to minimize immobilization and prevent secondary fractures. By addressing these factors, the study seeks to improve postoperative recovery and overall patient well-being.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 65 and older diagnosed with osteoporosis who can communicate effectively.

Not a fit: Patients under 65, those with Parkinson's disease, or those with communication barriers may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this training could significantly enhance recovery and quality of life for elderly patients undergoing hip surgery.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown positive outcomes with educational interventions for frail elderly patients, suggesting this approach may be effective.
