What this trial studies
This study investigates the effects of biodex training on balance in women undergoing hemodialysis who have osteopenia. A total of 58 participants will be divided into two groups: one group will receive biodex training three times a week for 12 weeks, while the control group will not receive any training. The training sessions will last for 10 minutes each. The goal is to assess whether this intervention can improve balance and reduce the risk of falls in this vulnerable population.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are women with osteopenia who are currently receiving hemodialysis treatment.
Not a fit: Patients who are pregnant, have autoimmune disorders, lower limb orthopedic problems, or psychological manifestations may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could enhance balance and reduce fall risk in women with osteopenia undergoing hemodialysis.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on biodex training specifically for this population, similar interventions have shown promise in improving balance in other patient groups.
