What this trial studies
This study focuses on improving hand hygiene compliance among nurses through a virtual reality simulation training program. It aims to address the low compliance rates of healthcare professionals with hand hygiene, which is crucial for preventing hospital-associated infections. The intervention includes both theoretical training and practical experience using virtual reality technology to enhance learning and retention. By utilizing innovative training methods, the study seeks to foster better attitudes and behaviors regarding hand hygiene among nursing staff.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are nurses who have not received additional hand hygiene training after their initial orientation and work in non-operating room settings.
Not a fit: Nurses who have already received additional hand hygiene training or those working in operating rooms may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly reduce hospital-associated infections and improve patient safety.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results using virtual reality for training in healthcare settings, indicating potential success for this innovative approach.
