What this trial studies
This study investigates the impact of discharge training on patients who have undergone surgery for intertrochanteric femur fractures. Patients will receive educational content before and after their discharge to assess its effects on wound healing and readiness for discharge. The study will involve 60 patients divided into intervention and control groups, with data collected through various evaluation forms. The goal is to statistically evaluate the benefits of discharge training on surgical recovery and post-discharge outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are Turkish-speaking adults aged 18 and over who have undergone intertrochanteric femur fracture surgery.
Not a fit: Patients with physical disabilities or psychiatric conditions that hinder self-care, as well as those who are illiterate or have previously received discharge training, may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could enhance recovery and reduce complications for patients after hip fracture surgery.
How similar studies have performed: While similar studies on discharge training exist, this specific approach focusing on intertrochanteric fractures is relatively novel.
