What this trial studies
This study evaluates the effectiveness of educational training on catheter-associated infection control for surgical nurses. It involves a total of 70 nurses from a city hospital in Istanbul, who will be randomly assigned to either an intervention group receiving structured training or a control group receiving routine training. The study aims to compare the knowledge and attitudes of both groups regarding infection prevention before, immediately after, and three months post-training. Data will be collected using validated scales to assess knowledge and attitudes towards infection control measures.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are nurses working in surgical units who are willing to participate in the training.
Not a fit: Nurses on leave or those unable to complete the questionnaire will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this training could significantly improve infection control practices among surgical nurses, leading to reduced catheter-related infections.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown that educational interventions can effectively enhance knowledge and attitudes regarding infection control in healthcare settings.
