What this trial studies
This study aims to evaluate the impact of providing breastfeeding education to fathers on various factors such as breastfeeding rates, parent-baby bonding, and the self-efficacy of breastfeeding among parents. By involving fathers in the education process, the study seeks to enhance their support for breastfeeding, which is crucial for the health of both the mother and the baby. The intervention will focus on equipping fathers with knowledge and skills to assist their partners in initiating and maintaining breastfeeding. The study will include first-time parents and assess the outcomes through various metrics related to breastfeeding practices.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are first-time parents aged 20 or older who are willing to participate and have access to a smartphone.
Not a fit: Patients who may not benefit include those with communication barriers or health issues affecting the mother or baby.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could improve breastfeeding rates and strengthen the parent-baby bond, leading to better health outcomes for infants.
How similar studies have performed: While the specific approach of training fathers in breastfeeding support is less common, similar studies have shown positive outcomes in enhancing breastfeeding practices through parental involvement.
