What this trial studies
This observational study aims to gather data on the incidence and types of injuries among children and adolescents participating in a youth soccer academy in Poland. Over the 2020/2023 seasons, participants will report injuries to sports physiotherapists, who will document the injuries using a standardized form aligned with international guidelines. The study will also assess various prognostic factors related to the participants' physical and fitness characteristics to identify potential injury risks. Data collection will include injury reports, physiotherapeutic examinations, and training exposure times.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are healthy children and adolescents actively participating in soccer competitions.
Not a fit: Patients who are unable to participate in soccer games or training due to health restrictions will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance injury prevention strategies for young athletes in soccer.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in tracking sports injuries and their risk factors, making this approach both relevant and supported by existing literature.
