Tracking COVID-19 antibody levels in hospital staff in Denmark
Seroconversion Among Staff at a Large Acute Care Hospital in Denmark During the COVID-19 Pandemic
This study is testing how COVID-19 antibody levels change in hospital staff in Denmark to see who is protected and who might still be at risk during the pandemic.

What this trial studies
This observational study aims to measure the seroconversion of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies among healthcare workers (HCWs) at two hospitals in Denmark during the COVID-19 pandemic. By collecting serum samples weekly and bi-weekly, the study will identify HCWs who are protected and non-infectious versus those who are seronegative and potentially at risk. The data gathered will help understand the transmission dynamics of COVID-19 among hospital staff and inform clinical practices. Additionally, long-term immunity will be assessed in a smaller group of seroconverted volunteers over a period of up to five years post-pandemic.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are hospital employees, including nurses, medical doctors, and laboratory scientists who have direct patient contact.
Not a fit: Patients who are not hospital employees or those who do not have direct contact with patients may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the safety protocols for healthcare workers and improve patient care during pandemics.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in tracking seroconversion among healthcare workers during the pandemic, indicating that this approach is both relevant and tested.
