What this trial studies

This study aims to enhance engagement with pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) information among young men who have sex with men (YMSM) through two intervention studies. In the first study, participants will browse a mock Google results page featuring either oral or injectable PrEP information, with their browsing behavior logged for analysis. The second study will focus solely on injectable PrEP content and will also collect visual behavior data using eye-trackers. Both studies will assess the effectiveness of different messaging strategies to improve PrEP awareness and intention to adopt it.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are HIV-negative cisgender males aged 18-34 who identify as gay or bisexual and have had anal sex in the past six months.

Not a fit: Patients who do not meet the eligibility criteria, such as those who are HIV positive or do not identify as cisgender males, may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could significantly improve PrEP awareness and uptake among young men who have sex with men, potentially reducing HIV transmission rates.

How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies focusing on PrEP awareness, this specific approach using health communication strategies and online browsing behavior is relatively novel.
