What this trial studies

Researchers translated and culturally adapted the five-item PRAFAB questionnaire into Turkish and then performed validity and reliability analyses in women diagnosed with urinary incontinence. The project enrolled adult female outpatients at the Afyonkarahisar University health center who met inclusion and exclusion criteria. The team examined construct validity and test–retest reliability to see if the Turkish version produces consistent and meaningful scores. Results will determine if the PRAFAB-Turkish can capture both objective and subjective aspects of incontinence and its impact on quality of life.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Adult Turkish-speaking women diagnosed with urinary incontinence by a urologist who are not pregnant or in the early postpartum period and who do not have excluded neurological, oncologic, or severe psychiatric conditions.

Not a fit: Women who are pregnant, in the early postpartum period, or who have bladder cancer, neurogenic bladder, recent urinary tract infection, severe cognitive impairment, or other excluded conditions are unlikely to benefit from participating.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, clinicians and researchers in Turkey will have a quick, validated Turkish tool to measure symptoms and quality-of-life impacts of urinary incontinence.

How similar studies have performed: PRAFAB has been validated in other languages and settings with generally good reliability and validity, so this translation follows established methods rather than testing a novel concept.
