What this trial studies
This study investigates the effects of telerehabilitation that combines motor and cognitive dual-task exercises for individuals with Parkinson's Disease. The approach aims to enhance cognitive function, balance, walking ability, fall risk, and overall quality of life by allowing patients to perform two tasks simultaneously. Unlike traditional rehabilitation methods that focus solely on balance and gait, this study seeks to address the multifaceted challenges faced by patients in their daily lives. The intervention will be conducted remotely, making it accessible for elderly patients who may have mobility issues.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals diagnosed with idiopathic Parkinson's Disease who can walk independently and have a stable medication regimen.
Not a fit: Patients with serious hearing or vision problems, other neurological disorders, or those lacking internet access may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve the daily functioning and quality of life for patients with Parkinson's Disease.
How similar studies have performed: While the dual-task approach is gaining attention, this specific combination of motor and cognitive exercises delivered via telerehabilitation is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
