What this trial studies
This study evaluates the effectiveness of a telerehabilitation exercise program in improving glycemic control among pregnant women diagnosed with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Participants will be divided into two groups: one receiving structured telerehabilitation exercises and the other receiving routine medical care. The study aims to assess how remote exercise sessions can enhance maternal health outcomes by managing blood glucose levels during pregnancy. The findings will provide insights into the role of telehealth interventions in supporting women with GDM.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are women aged 20 to 35 years, between 20-28 weeks of gestation, diagnosed with gestational diabetes through an oral glucose tolerance test.
Not a fit: Patients with a history of type 1 or type 2 diabetes, high-risk pregnancy conditions, or those taking insulin regularly may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve glycemic management and health outcomes for pregnant women with gestational diabetes.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results with telehealth interventions for managing chronic conditions, suggesting potential success for this approach in gestational diabetes.
