What this trial studies
This study evaluates the effectiveness of simulation-based training for midwifery students in managing electronic fetal monitoring (EFM). It aims to enhance the knowledge, skills, and self-efficacy of students by providing hands-on experience in a controlled environment. The training focuses on critical thinking, clinical decision-making, and problem-solving skills essential for monitoring fetal health during pregnancy. By using high-fidelity simulation, the study seeks to improve the preparedness of midwives in real clinical settings.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are second-year midwifery students enrolled in a 'Risky Pregnancy' course who have not previously participated in simulation training.
Not a fit: Patients who are not midwifery students or those who have prior experience with simulation training may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve the competency of midwives in electronic fetal monitoring, leading to better outcomes for mothers and newborns.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown that simulation-based training can effectively enhance clinical skills and confidence among healthcare professionals, indicating a promising approach.
