What this trial studies

This study aims to determine whether teaching medical students through simulation before or after didactic lectures enhances their knowledge and retention of information regarding Pediatric Status Epilepticus. Participants, who are second-year medical students at the University of British Columbia, will be randomly assigned to two groups that experience the teaching methods in reverse order. The effectiveness of each approach will be compared to identify which method leads to better learning outcomes.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are second-year medical students enrolled at the University of British Columbia.

Not a fit: Patients who are not medical students or those from other years of study will not benefit from this educational intervention.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve educational strategies in medical training, leading to better preparedness among future healthcare providers.

How similar studies have performed: While educational interventions in medical training have been explored, this specific comparison of teaching order in simulation and didactic methods is relatively novel.
