What this trial studies
This study evaluates the effects of a task-oriented intervention designed to improve upper limb coordination in children aged 4 to 12 with developmental coordination disorder (DCD). The intervention will be conducted over three months, with sessions held three times a week, focusing on goal-directed tasks to enhance fine and gross motor skills. Data will be collected before and after the intervention using standardized assessment tools to measure improvements in coordination and hand-eye skills. The study aims to provide insights into how targeted therapies can improve the quality of life for children with DCD.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are children aged 4 to 12 diagnosed with developmental coordination disorder who can understand and follow instructions.
Not a fit: Children with unstable seizures or severe congenital conditions affecting their ability to participate in the intervention may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly enhance the motor skills and daily functioning of children with developmental coordination disorder.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results with task-oriented interventions for similar conditions, indicating potential for success in this approach.
