Survey on young lung cancer and its potential causes

This is a 100% Virtual (Remote) Study (Survey, and Voluntary Blood Donation) to Explore Potential Environmental, Lifestyle and Genetic Factors That May be Associated With Driver Mutations of Young Lung Cancer in the USA.

Observational Addario Lung Cancer Medical Institute · NCT04640259

What this trial studies

This observational study is a fully virtual survey aimed at exploring the environmental, lifestyle, and genetic factors associated with driver mutations in young lung cancer patients in the U.S. Participants will be required to complete an online survey to provide information about their experiences and backgrounds. The study focuses on individuals diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) before the age of 50, gathering data to better understand the epidemiology of this condition.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals aged 18 and over who have been diagnosed with NSCLC at or before the age of 50 and have undergone genomic testing.

Not a fit: Patients diagnosed with NSCLC at age 50 or older or those without documentation of mutation testing may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide valuable insights into the causes of young lung cancer, potentially leading to improved prevention and treatment strategies.

How similar studies have performed: While studies on lung cancer exist, this specific focus on young patients and their unique risk factors is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
