Survey on respiratory tract infections in adults
A Multicentric Epidemiological Study of the Actual Incidence of Respiratory Tract Infections in an Adult Italian Population, with or Without Underlying Risk Factors

What this trial studies
This observational survey aims to gather reliable data on the incidence of respiratory tract infections in the adult population post-COVID, without any interventions. Conducted in Italy over two consecutive years, the study will involve approximately 2750 participants recruited from various medical settings. General practitioners and specialists will collect clinical information from subjects who report suspected infections during the winter and early spring months. The findings will inform future studies on preventive measures and treatments for respiratory infections.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are healthy and non-healthy adults aged 18 and older.
Not a fit: Patients who are minors will not benefit from this study as they are excluded from participation.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide valuable insights into the incidence of respiratory tract infections, aiding in the development of effective preventive strategies and treatments.
How similar studies have performed: Other observational studies have successfully gathered similar data, but this specific approach post-COVID is relatively novel.
