What this trial studies

This observational study aims to explore the dynamics of mentorship in the field of anesthesia by surveying anesthesiologists who are members of ESAIC/ASA. It will investigate the preferences and experiences of both mentors and mentees, focusing on the factors that influence their choices, including sociodemographic characteristics. The study seeks to understand the prevalence of mentor-mentee relationships and the barriers faced in establishing these connections. By gathering insights from participants, the research aims to identify effective mentorship practices and improve mentorship opportunities in anesthesia.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are anesthesiologists who are members of ESAIC or ASA.

Not a fit: Patients who are not anesthesiologists or who do not belong to ESAIC or ASA may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance mentorship programs in anesthesia, leading to better career advancement and support for anesthesiologists.

How similar studies have performed: While mentorship in medical fields has been studied, this specific focus on anesthesia and the mentor-mentee relationship from both perspectives is novel.
