What this trial studies

The TrEnd trial collects data from women undergoing segmental sigmoid colon or rectal resection due to deep endometriosis. This observational study aims to compile a large series of cases treated with standardized surgical techniques to evaluate complications and long-term outcomes. By analyzing these cases, the study seeks to improve understanding of surgical interventions for this condition.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are women aged 18 and older with deep endometriotic nodules affecting the sigmoid colon or rectum.

Not a fit: Patients under 18, those with inflammatory bowel disease, or individuals who have had previous pelvic radiotherapy may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance surgical outcomes and quality of life for women suffering from deep endometriosis.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in evaluating surgical outcomes for deep endometriosis, making this approach both relevant and necessary.
