What this trial studies
This study investigates the effectiveness of using free fat flaps to cover the neurolyzed brachial plexus in patients with recurrent neurogenic thoracic outlet syndrome. The goal is to improve local vascularization and reduce the risk of symptom recurrence after surgical intervention. Participants will be assessed using validated questionnaires to evaluate the impact of this surgical approach. The study focuses on patients who have previously undergone brachial plexus neurolysis and are experiencing recurrent symptoms.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are patients who have undergone brachial plexus neurolysis and are experiencing recurrent symptoms of thoracic outlet syndrome.
Not a fit: Patients who are unable to provide consent or have language barriers may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly reduce the recurrence of symptoms in patients with neurogenic thoracic outlet syndrome.
How similar studies have performed: While the use of fat flaps in surgical procedures is established, this specific application in recurrent neurogenic thoracic outlet syndrome is novel and has not been extensively tested.
