What this trial studies
This program aims to evaluate the feasibility and participant satisfaction of the Support through Remote Observation and Nutrition Guidance (STRONG) initiative for pancreatic cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Participants will receive enhanced access to dietician consultations and utilize a daily food intake diary through a Fitbit smartphone application. The study will assess how these interventions can improve nutritional support and overall well-being for patients during their treatment.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults aged 18 and older diagnosed with metastatic or locally advanced pancreatic cancer who are currently receiving chemotherapy.
Not a fit: Patients with psychiatric or neurological disorders that interfere with participation, or those undergoing treatment for a second primary GI cancer, may not benefit from this program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly improve the nutritional status and quality of life for patients with pancreatic cancer receiving chemotherapy.
How similar studies have performed: While this approach is innovative, similar studies focusing on nutritional support for cancer patients have shown promising results in improving patient outcomes.
