What this trial studies
This pilot project evaluates the feasibility and preliminary impacts of a parent support program that uses educational videos delivered through a popular texting platform. The program focuses on teaching parents strategies to manage their children's transitions to non-preferred activities, particularly for those exhibiting inattentive, hyperactive, and impulsive behaviors. The study employs a pre-post, open trial design to assess the usability and satisfaction of the program, with expectations of moderate improvements in parenting practices and child behavior. Parents of children aged 4-10 who face challenges with transitions are invited to participate.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are parents of children aged 4-10 who experience difficulties with transitions and may exhibit behaviors associated with ADHD.
Not a fit: Parents whose children do not face transition challenges or who do not understand Japanese may not benefit from this program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could provide parents with effective strategies to improve their children's behavior and daily routines.
How similar studies have performed: Existing literature suggests that behavior parent training has been effective in traditional formats, indicating potential success for this novel digital approach.
