What this trial studies

This clinical trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a self-management support program that combines exercise and nutrition interventions for lung cancer patients suffering from cachexia-anorexia syndrome. Participants will create personalized exercise plans and receive guidance on protein-rich diets following educational support. The study will compare the nutritional status of those receiving this intervention to a control group receiving standard health education. The goal is to determine if this tailored approach can improve the nutritional health of these patients.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include lung cancer patients who have experienced significant weight loss and are capable of participating in home exercise without supervision.

Not a fit: Patients with severe comorbidities such as uncontrolled cardiovascular disease or significant cognitive impairments may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly enhance the nutritional status and overall well-being of lung cancer patients experiencing cachexia.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results with similar interventions combining exercise and nutritional support for cancer patients, suggesting potential for success in this approach.
