What this trial studies
This observational study aims to gather and analyze data on Streptobacillus moniliformis infections, which are zoonotic diseases transmitted through rat bites. Given the rarity of documented cases in France, the study seeks to improve diagnosis and treatment strategies for this underrecognized infection. By examining cases from 2007 to 2023, the research will contribute to a better understanding of the clinical manifestations and implications of these infections. The findings could lead to enhanced awareness and management of zoonotic diseases.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include minors aged 1 to 17 years and adults 18 years and older with a proven Streptobacillus moniliformis infection.
Not a fit: Patients who have not been diagnosed with a Streptobacillus moniliformis infection or who oppose participation will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved diagnosis and treatment for patients suffering from Streptobacillus moniliformis infections.
How similar studies have performed: This study addresses a novel area with limited prior research, as there are no existing case series on Streptobacillus moniliformis infections in the literature.
