Study on genetic and environmental risks for pancreatic cancer
The Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma Gene Environment Risk Study -A Prospective Cohort Study of Patients at Risk or Having Pancreatic Disease
This study is trying to find out how genes and the environment might affect the risk of getting pancreatic cancer by collecting health information and samples from participants.

What this trial studies
This observational study aims to investigate the genetic and environmental factors associated with pancreatic adenocarcinoma. Participants will complete a medical and family history questionnaire and provide blood and possibly urine samples for analysis. The study will also involve accessing participants' medical records to gather comprehensive data. Biological samples will be stored for potential future research projects related to pancreatic cancer.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals with a confirmed diagnosis of pancreatic adenocarcinoma, those with certain pancreatic or liver conditions, and healthy individuals from high-risk families.
Not a fit: Patients under 18 years old or those unable to provide informed consent will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance understanding of the risk factors for pancreatic cancer, potentially leading to improved prevention and treatment strategies.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies investigating genetic and environmental factors in pancreatic cancer have shown promise, suggesting that this approach may yield valuable insights.
