What this trial studies

This observational cohort compiles retrospective and prospective clinical, imaging, biochemical and histopathologic data from adults diagnosed with adrenal cortical carcinoma and followed at Strasbourg University Hospital between January 1, 2000 and May 31, 2025. Inclusion requires histopathologic confirmation of the adrenal cortical tumor and excludes tumors later reclassified as non-ACC. Collected data will include Weiss score, Ki-67, hormonal secretion status, imaging features, treatments and outcomes. The work is purely descriptive and aims to define disease patterns and prognostic markers to inform future research and clinical decisions.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Adults (≥18 years) with histopathologically confirmed adrenal cortical carcinoma who are or were followed at Strasbourg University Hospital between January 1, 2000 and May 31, 2025 are eligible.

Not a fit: Patients whose tumors were reclassified as non-ACC, individuals not followed at Strasbourg University Hospital, and pediatric patients are unlikely to benefit from participation.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this cohort could improve understanding of tumor biology and outcomes to help doctors diagnose, prognose and design future trials for ACC.

How similar studies have performed: Previous single-center and registry cohorts have yielded useful descriptive data on ACC but are limited by rarity of the disease, so this project builds on existing observational work rather than introducing a novel intervention.
