What this trial studies

This is a randomized controlled trial with two parallel arms comparing full access and orientation to SolanoConnex.org versus provision of publicly available mental health resources. Adults with mild-to-moderate mental health symptoms who live in Solano County and own a smartphone are randomized to either the intervention or control group. The primary outcome is any use of mental health services or supports, self-reported through digital diaries prompted every two weeks, and secondary outcomes include stigma, help-seeking attitudes, and self-efficacy. Participants who are already in recent comprehensive case management or who have previously used SolanoConnex.org are excluded.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Adults aged 18 or older living in Solano County with mild-to-moderate mental health symptoms who own a smartphone and are fluent in English are ideal candidates.

Not a fit: People currently receiving comprehensive case management or counseling within the past six months, those without smartphone/internet access, non-English speakers, individuals outside Solano County, or those who have previously used SolanoConnex.org are unlikely to benefit from participation.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, the program could increase engagement with local mental health supports and reduce barriers to seeking help for adults with mild-to-moderate symptoms in Solano County.

How similar studies have performed: Other digital navigation and web-based access programs have shown mixed but generally promising results for increasing help-seeking and engagement, so this approach builds on some prior evidence.
