What this trial studies
This study aims to develop and evaluate an adaptive smoking cessation program specifically tailored for the construction sector. It will assess the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of various interventions, including Nicoderm C-Q Gum, tobacco quit-line support, and both brief and intensive behavioral counseling. The program will involve company leaders, safety managers, and construction workers to ensure comprehensive implementation and support. Participants will be engaged in a structured quit attempt over a defined period.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include construction workers who smoke at least 5 cigarettes daily and are committed to quitting within the next 30 days.
Not a fit: Patients who are current smokers and safety managers are excluded from participation and may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly improve smoking cessation rates among construction workers, leading to better health outcomes.
