What this trial studies
This study evaluates the impact of simulation-based breast health education on breast cancer awareness and self-examination practices among Afghan refugee women. It involves 64 participants, divided into an intervention group receiving weekly education sessions for 8 weeks and a control group with no intervention. Data will be collected using a socio-demographic questionnaire and specific measures to assess awareness and practices related to breast cancer.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are Afghan women aged 20-65 who can communicate in Turkish or Dari.
Not a fit: Patients who have been diagnosed with breast cancer will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly enhance breast cancer awareness and self-examination practices among Afghan refugee women, potentially leading to earlier detection and better outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: While similar educational interventions have shown promise in improving health awareness, this specific approach targeting Afghan refugee women is relatively novel.
