What this trial studies
This retrospective observational cohort will collect anonymous routine clinic data from NHS dermatology centers across the United Kingdom. Sites will submit demographic information and treatment histories for patients with chronic plaque psoriasis who received one to ten lines of biologic or targeted synthetic therapies. For each line of therapy investigators will record baseline Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) and Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) scores and the scores at three and six months to measure response. Analysis will compare response rates across sequential biologic lines to see whether 3-month responses decline after the second biologic.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are people in the United Kingdom with dermatologist-diagnosed chronic plaque psoriasis who have previously received one to ten lines of biologic or targeted synthetic therapy.
Not a fit: People with non-plaque forms of psoriasis, patients treated outside the UK, or those without prior biologic treatment are unlikely to be represented or benefit from the study's conclusions.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the results could help clinicians predict how well patients are likely to respond to later-line biologic treatments and guide treatment choices.
How similar studies have performed: While many trials have shown strong responses to first- and second-line biologics, few studies have examined outcomes after three or more sequential biologics, so this question remains relatively untested.
