What this trial studies

This study investigates the use of the G-EO System, a robotic gait rehabilitation device, to improve mobility and quality of life in patients with Parkinson's disease who experience gait disorders. It aims to establish the safety and feasibility of this electromechanically-assisted gait training through a single-blinded, randomized trial. Participants will receive either robotic-assisted training or conventional physical therapy, with outcomes measured in terms of mobility, function, and overall quality of life. The study seeks to provide a more efficient and effective rehabilitation approach compared to traditional methods.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults over 18 with a confirmed diagnosis of Parkinson's disease at Hoehn and Yahr stages 1 to 3 who require functional rehabilitation.

Not a fit: Patients with severe dyskinesia, unstable medication regimens, or significant co-morbidities affecting walking may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly enhance mobility and quality of life for patients with Parkinson's disease.

How similar studies have performed: Preliminary evidence from small studies suggests potential benefits of robotic-assisted gait training, indicating this approach may be promising but is still relatively novel.
