Rhythm-based walking interventions for Parkinson's disease
Sing for Your Saunter: Using Self-Generated Rhythmic Cues to Enhance Gait in Parkinson's

What this trial studies
This clinical trial aims to compare two rhythm-based walking interventions to improve gait in individuals with Parkinson's disease. Participants will engage in walking to music and singing while walking over a 12-week period. The study will assess how these rhythm-based training methods affect walking performance and brain activity. The goal is to determine which method is more effective in enhancing mobility for those affected by this condition.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 30 and older with a diagnosis of idiopathic Parkinson's disease and mild to moderate walking impairments.
Not a fit: Patients with significant cognitive impairment or other neurological conditions may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved walking performance and quality of life for patients with Parkinson's disease.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promise in using rhythm-based interventions for gait improvement in Parkinson's disease, suggesting potential for success in this approach.
