What this trial studies

This study compares acute appetite and energy-balance responses after resistance exercise in healthy males and females aged 20–30. Female participants must have regular menstrual cycles to allow sex-based comparisons. Participants will complete resistance exercise sessions and researchers will measure appetite sensations and indicators of energy balance before and after exercise. The goal is to clarify sex-related variability to support more precise exercise recommendations.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Healthy males and females aged 20–30 with stable body weight and, for females, regular menstrual cycles are ideal candidates.

Not a fit: People who are older, obese, pregnant, have uncontrolled medical conditions, or irregular menstrual cycles would likely not benefit from or be eligible for this protocol.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, findings could help tailor resistance-exercise recommendations to better manage appetite and energy balance in men and women.

How similar studies have performed: Prior research has reported sex differences in some exercise-related appetite and energy responses but results are mixed, so this work builds on existing but not definitive evidence.
