What this trial studies

This trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a formal resilience training program on self-reported resilience scores among junior physicians-in-training. Participants will be divided into an intervention group, which will receive the resilience training, and a control group that will receive standard resources on resilience. The study will assess the impact of the timing of the training during residency on resilience outcomes. Self-reported resilience scores will be compared three months post-training to determine the effectiveness of the intervention.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are first- and second-year medical residents enrolled in the Anesthesia and Emergency Medicine postgraduate residency programs at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry.

Not a fit: Patients who are not enrolled in the specified residency programs or who are beyond their second year of training may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this training could enhance the resilience and overall well-being of physicians-in-training, potentially reducing burnout and improving patient care.

How similar studies have performed: While resilience training has been explored in various settings, this specific adaptation for physicians-in-training is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
