What this trial studies
This pilot trial evaluates the feasibility and acceptability of a remote, video-based pelvic floor muscle therapy (PFMT) program for patients experiencing pelvic floor disorders such as urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. Participants will complete an initial survey and have one in-person session with a pelvic floor therapist before starting an 8-week video course. After the course, they will have a final in-person session and complete follow-up surveys to assess symptom improvement and quality of life. The study aims to determine if this innovative approach can effectively support patients with pelvic floor dysfunction.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are English-speaking individuals diagnosed with pelvic floor dysfunction who can access web-based videos.
Not a fit: Patients who are unable to access web-based videos or do not speak English may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could provide accessible and effective therapy for patients suffering from pelvic floor disorders.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown that pelvic floor muscle therapy can improve symptoms, but this specific remote video approach is relatively novel.
