What this trial studies

This study evaluates the effectiveness of a multimodal rehabilitation protocol for patients suffering from lateral epicondylitis, commonly known as tennis elbow. It compares this approach to conventional physiotherapy treatments through a randomized controlled trial involving 40 participants aged 18-45. The study utilizes a dynamometer for pre and post assessments to measure hand strength and other outcome measures. Participants are selected based on specific tenderness and positive test results related to their condition.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals aged 18-45 who have localized tenderness at the lateral epicondyle and have experienced symptoms for at least two months.

Not a fit: Patients with a history of elbow, wrist, or hand fractures or surgeries, as well as those with cognitive deficits, may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a more effective rehabilitation method for patients with lateral epicondylitis, potentially leading to faster recovery and improved hand function.

How similar studies have performed: While literature on multimodal rehabilitation for lateral epicondylitis is limited, the study aims to fill this gap and build on existing knowledge, suggesting a novel approach.
