Registry studying obesity, circadian rhythm, and aging
OCEAN Registry: Obesity and Clock for Elegant Aging Registry 肥胖控制及生理時鐘之研究計畫
This study is trying to see how obesity, sleep patterns, and aging are connected by following 2,000 adults over 10 years to learn more about their health.

What this trial studies
This observational study aims to explore the relationships between obesity, circadian rhythm, and aging by establishing a prospective cohort registry. It will follow 2000 adult participants, including those with morbid obesity and normal weight, over a period of 10 years with annual assessments. Data collected will include clinical information, biological samples, and questionnaires related to sleep quality and circadian activities. The study seeks to understand the pathophysiological and molecular connections between these factors and their impact on aging and cardiovascular health.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults aged 20 years and older with a body mass index of 24 kg/m2 or higher, as well as normal weight individuals with a BMI below 24.
Not a fit: Patients with severe systemic diseases or organ failure, or those who cannot provide informed consent, may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide insights that lead to improved management and treatment strategies for obesity and related conditions.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in exploring the links between obesity and circadian rhythms, but this specific registry approach is relatively novel.
