Registry of people with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension in Russia
Registry of Patients With Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension in Russia: Determinants of Long-term Outcomes in Real Clinical Practice

What this trial studies
This observational registry enrolls people with confirmed CTEPH treated at a national cardiology center in Moscow and combines retrospective and prospective clinical data. It records demographics, medical history, symptoms, hospitalizations, imaging and hemodynamic results, and treatments including pulmonary endarterectomy (PEA), balloon pulmonary angioplasty (BPA), and pulmonary hypertension-specific medications. The registry aims to identify factors that influence hospitalization rates, time to clinical deterioration, and survival by analyzing associations between baseline characteristics, anamnestic data, treatment regimens, and outcomes. Preliminary retrospective data on about 300 patients from 2012–2024 are already available to inform ongoing analyses.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Adults with a confirmed diagnosis of CTEPH who are evaluated or treated at the participating center are eligible for inclusion.
Not a fit: Patients with pulmonary hypertension due to other causes or those not seen at the participating center are unlikely to benefit directly from the registry findings.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the registry could help doctors in Russia choose the best treatments and follow-up strategies by identifying factors linked to better survival and fewer hospitalizations.
How similar studies have performed: International CTEPH registries have previously identified prognostic factors and varying use of PEA, BPA, and medical therapy, but country-specific data for Russia remain limited.
